Naseer Aruri

Naseer Aruri is widely respected as one of the preeminent analysts of the history and politics of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. An emeritus professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, Aruri served on the faculty of that university from 1965 to 1998. He has been consulted as an expert commentator by PBS, National Public Radio, CNN, Lehrer News Hour, ABC News, and the BBC World Service. A popular lecturer, Aruri has appeared at more than 180 universities in North America. His most recent book is Dishonest Broker: The U.S. Role in Israel and Palestine. He has served in leadership roles with The Trans-Arab Research Institute, The Center for Policy Analysis on Palestine, the Arab Organization for Human Rights, Human Rights Watch/Middle East, and Amnesty International USA. Aruri was born in Jerusalem.

About the 2003-04 Community Education and Dialog Series

CJPIP logoThe Committee for a Just Peace in Israel and Palestine (CJPIP) is a community-based organization founded to develop and support activities that further the cause of peace and justice in Palestine/Israel. The 2003-04 Community Education and Dialog Series, running September 2003 through April 2004, will bring eight distinguished speakers to Chicago-area audiences, including Rich Meyer, Devorah Brous, Naseer Aruri, Kymberlie Quong Charles, Ziad Abu Rish, Geoffrey Aronson, Sara Roy, and Norman Finkelstein. See all planned events in this series. Series presenters will appear in Oak Park and elsewhere throughout the Chicago and suburban areas. Events are subject to change. Speakers do not necessarily represent the views of CJPIP.
