Norman Finkelstein

Norman Finkelsteinšs groundbreaking book Image and Reality of the Israel-Palestine Conflict is considered essential reading for students of the conflict. Widely respected for his fearless, provocative reappraisals of received assumptions, Finkelstein fuses his personal experiences as a visitor to the region with his critical analysis as a scholar of political science. Other books by Finkelstein include: The Rise and Fall of Palestine; A Nation on Trial: The Goldhagen Thesis and Historical Truth; and The Holocaust Industry: Reflections on the Exploitation of Jewish Suffering. He received his doctorate from Princeton University for a thesis on the theory of Zionism. His writings have appeared in the London Review of Books, Journal of Palestine Studies, New Left Review, Middle East Report, the Christian Science Monitor, and Al Ahram Weekly. Currently he teaches political science at DePaul University in Chicago. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he is the son of Holocaust survivors.
