Building a Just Peace:
Important Perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Zionism and Palestine
A Jewish Woman's Story

Alisa Klein

Sunday, March 6
2:30pm

Oak Park Public Library
Veterans Room
834 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL

Alisa Klein is an Israeli citizen, former kibbutznikit, and veteran of the Israeli army. Born in the US, Klein spent many years of her life in Israel and is currently living in Massachusetts. Decades of personal exploration, academic study, and experience living, working and studying in the Arab world, have shaped Klein's fascinating story—a shift from a deep commitment to Zionism to a critique of Israel's policies. Klein will map her personal and political evolution with stories from her Zionist childhood, service in the Israeli army, and years working and studying in Jordan and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, as well as visual images from her recent work on the West Bank.

This event is also co-sponsored by Not In My Name and the Action for Justice Committee—St. Giles Family Mass Community.
