Joel BeininLisa Hajjar


Joel Beinin has taught Middle East history at Stanford University since 1983. His research and writing focuses on workers, peasants, and minorities in the modern Middle East and on Israel, Palestine, and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Lisa Hajjar, a sociologist, is an associate professor in the Law and Society Program at the University of California-Santa Barbara. She is author of the 2005 book, Courting Conflict: The Israeli Military Court System in the West Bank and Gaza.
