2007 Walk Banner Arrives at the Wall

A ten-foot banner bearing messages in support of justice and peace and calling for the destruction of Israel’s Wall was created by participants at the 2007 Walk for a Just Peace in Oak Park. The banner was carried to the Middle East as an expression of solidarity with Palestinian and Israeli peace activists and is shown here at the Wall, held by attendees at the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) Strategy Day in November, 2007. Among the attendees pictured: Mary Lou Leiser Smith, ICAHD-USA Executive Board; author Herman Ruether; Rev. Richard K. Toll, Chair, Friends of Sabeel North America. The banner is currently on display at Beit Arabiya, ICAHD’s peace center, currently under threat of another demolition by the Israeli government.
