The Committee for a Just Peace in Israel and Palestine is a diverse, community-based group dedicated to organizing activities and educational events that advance the cause of peace and justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.

WE SUPPORT:

• equal rights and access to resources for all inhabitants of the region, based on principles of social, economic, environmental, and political justice.
• peace and justice activities in Israel, Palestine, and the U.S.
• an end to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, in accordance with international law and U.N. resolutions.
• an end to U.S. policies that sustain the occupation.
• international support for an equitable and just negotiation process.
• a resolution to the Palestinian refugee issue in accordance with international law and human rights principles.
• an end to all forms of terror: state, organizational, and individual.

OUR CURRENT CAMPAIGN:

The Be on our side: End U.S. military aid to Israel project uses advertising on urban transit systems and related media to promote a positive, productive U.S. policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian. The campaign has three goals:

• to encourage U.S. policies that promote peace, equality, and security for Israelis and Palestinians
• to inform Americans about the scale and consequences of U.S. military aid to Israel
• to promote awareness of the importance of ending U.S. military aid to Israel

COMMUNITY DIALOG SERIES

Since 2002 we have sponsored numerous public educational events - speakers, films, photo exhibits - in Oak Park. The aim of this series has been to raise awareness of the need for a just peace in Israel / Palestine by giving public voice to a variety of viewpoints not often heard in the mainstream media. WALK FOR A JUST PEACE IN ISRAEL AND PALESTINE

From 2002 through 2010 we organized an annual walk through downtown Oak Park culminating in an "Advocacy Buffet". More info
